Staying Motivated During Coronavirus

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, boxing practice—and many other large events have been canceled.

Along with this has come the closure of businesses, schools, gyms, churches, etc leaving many people trying to balance their “new way of life”.

Everyone is trying to find a new routine both for business and life.  Many are also trying to find a way to work out—because it’s important for both mental and physical health.

So during these times of stress, Depression and Anxiety this is a perfect time to stay busy and occupied to help ease our stress.

With schools and gyms being closed this impacted our kids who are amateur Boxers.  It created a huge impact in their lives just as I’m sure it has impacted yours.

Our son who’s a competitive boxer had trained for months day in/day out preparing for a National tournament and 3 weeks ago it was announced that they were canceling it due to the Coronavirus – Covid-19.

Things changed drastically overnight so we had to get creative.  Everyone including our children are now finding new ways to break a sweat while at home.

So, here are some tips and inspiration for your next at-home work out to help you keep motivated—we’re all in this together:

Keep a Routine

“I’m fortunate to live in a court and we have a large back yard, so we can continue our runs and workout once-a-week.  Therefore, we are doing our part to help stop the spread of this virus.”—Faviola Valencia, the CEO Hustler

Stay Positive

As we know “Life changes very quickly, but it’s how we react to those changes that matter”.

  • Times are hard.
  • Things are scary.
  • Life is changing by the minute.
  • Things will get harder before they get better.

But have FAITH, HOPE and BELIEVE that we will see the light💡 at the end of the tunnel

When I say it’s time to (Boss Up and Rise) I say it to #motivate you AND #Inspire you.

I hope that it helps you focus and working on things that you may have put on the “back burner” prior to this crisis Coronavirus – Covid-19😷

Work and Focus on Your Business

Now is the time to Focus on your Business and Focus on those very important items.

  • Work on Your Plan
  • Focus on Your Mission
  • Get in Your Vision in place
  • Create Your Strategy
  • Set Your Goals, etc. (During your NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS).

After work hours you need to spend that much-needed Quality Time with your Family, do some SELFCARE, Games, Watch Movies, Tik Tok videos 😉 (my daughter and I love doing TikToks), Baking, Cooking, etc. get creative.

I’m also taking this time to work on some long overdue “organizing”.  I create a plan with my kids and we all make it fun by turning on some music and challenging each other on who does what and who finishes first, its fun and interactive.

Since its now springtime, we are taking some time working on our garden and cleaning our back yard.  It’s a great way to spend some good family quality time.

How about working on a Vision Board with your kids and family?  This also a great way to interact with your kids, but also help them focus on other things vs all the chaos going on right now.

We also created our own in-home weekly plan during school hours.  Here’s an example:

  1. School hours agenda
  2. Prepare lunch (together). We created a weekly menu.
  3. PE activities and we do those together

This is a good way to stay connected and working together to get through these difficult moments.

What tips do you have for our wonderful audience?  How are you getting by these difficult and uncertain moments?
