Q: How much do Bilingual Virtual Assistant Salary (2020)

How much does a Virtual Assistant make? This is a common question I get from many of my followers, but more importantly, bilingual professionals.

Based on my research and my experience according to ZipRecruiter “as of Nov 9, 2020, the average annual pay for a Work From Home Virtual Assistant in the United States is $67,115 a year.”

However, this rate will vary based on many factors such as; location, experience, type of services, language pairs amongst many other factors.

As a professional and experienced Interpreter, Business Coach, Interpreter Trainer, and P/T (VA) Virtual Assistant I can tell you that this is a very lucrative business and more so now during these unprecedented times.

It’s very important to understand the industry, what it takes, what you need in order to start and enter this lucrative industry.

Therefore if you are seeking to start a business as a Virtual Assistant it is important that you analyze your skills and that you do your research.  The last thing you want is to start a business without knowing your niche/industry, or worse put your Start-Up Business at RISK!

Staying Motivated During Coronavirus

Tips to help you stay motivated, healthy and help you with your entrepreneurship journey

Staying Motivated During Coronavirus

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, boxing practice—and many other large events have been canceled.

Along with this has come the closure of businesses, schools, gyms, churches, etc leaving many people trying to balance their “new way of life”.

Everyone is trying to find a new routine both for business and life.  Many are also trying to find a way to work out—because it’s important for both mental and physical health.

So during these times of stress, Depression and Anxiety this is a perfect time to stay busy and occupied to help ease our stress.

With schools and gyms being closed this impacted our kids who are amateur Boxers.  It created a huge impact in their lives just as I’m sure it has impacted yours.

Our son who’s a competitive boxer had trained for months day in/day out preparing for a National tournament and 3 weeks ago it was announced that they were canceling it due to the Coronavirus – Covid-19.

Things changed drastically overnight so we had to get creative.  Everyone including our children are now finding new ways to break a sweat while at home.

So, here are some tips and inspiration for your next at-home work out to help you keep motivated—we’re all in this together:

Faviola the CEO Hustler

Keep a Routine

“I’m fortunate to live in a court and we have a large back yard, so we can continue our runs and workout once-a-week.  Therefore, we are doing our part to help stop the spread of this virus.”—Faviola Valencia, the CEO Hustler

Stay Positive

As we know “Life changes very quickly, but it’s how we react to those changes that matter”.

  • Times are hard.
  • Things are scary.
  • Life is changing by the minute.
  • Things will get harder before they get better.

But have FAITH, HOPE and BELIEVE that we will see the light💡 at the end of the tunnel

When I say it’s time to (Boss Up and Rise) I say it to #motivate you AND #Inspire you.

I hope that it helps you focus and working on things that you may have put on the “back burner” prior to this crisis Coronavirus – Covid-19😷

Work and Focus on Your Business

Now is the time to Focus on your Business and Focus on those very important items.

  • Work on Your Plan
  • Focus on Your Mission
  • Get in Your Vision in place
  • Create Your Strategy
  • Set Your Goals, etc. (During your NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS).

After work hours you need to spend that much-needed Quality Time with your Family, do some SELFCARE, Games, Watch Movies, Tik Tok videos 😉 (my daughter and I love doing TikToks), Baking, Cooking, etc. get creative.

I’m also taking this time to work on some long overdue “organizing”.  I create a plan with my kids and we all make it fun by turning on some music and challenging each other on who does what and who finishes first, its fun and interactive.

Since its now springtime, we are taking some time working on our garden and cleaning our back yard.  It’s a great way to spend some good family quality time.

How about working on a Vision Board with your kids and family?  This also a great way to interact with your kids, but also help them focus on other things vs all the chaos going on right now.

We also created our own in-home weekly plan during school hours.  Here’s an example:

  1. School hours agenda
  2. Prepare lunch (together). We created a weekly menu.
  3. PE activities and we do those together

This is a good way to stay connected and working together to get through these difficult moments.

What tips do you have for our wonderful audience?  How are you getting by these difficult and uncertain moments?

COVID-19: Business Survival Tips

Business Tips that every Entrepreneur needs to do

Some of the top CDC-Recommended Tips that small business owners can take to mitigate risk, protect employees and support customers during the COVID-19 pandemic

As of February, we all started to see major changes in the economy, virus, etc and now we know that COVID-19 pandemic is spreading at a much faster pace – faster than we have ever seen with past viruses.

And as the situation evolves, many families including small business owners, entrepreneurs, freelancers are unsure of what steps to take to mitigate risk, protect their business; employees, but also support customers.

Here’s a
FREE Tool Kit.

Here are additional tips that I would also like to share with you during this COVID-19 crisis:

  1. If you are NOT working at home make sure to establish a Remote Work Option
  2. Reduce all meetings and/or travels
  3. Establish some work flexibility in order to protect your employees/workers/freelancers, etc.
  4. Communicate effectively and transparently with your customers and make sure they also understand your new policies (if any) during these difficult times.
  5. Stay safe, clean and healthy
    1. No handshaking
    2. Wash your hands
    3. Do not touch the face
    4. Disinfect areas

During these difficult times, we tend to watch the news, listen to the radio, social media and 8 out of 10 times we are receiving conflicting and misinformation.

I highly recommend that you stick to one channel to AVOID CONFUSION:

  1. Follow your City, County, and State news for accurate and up to date information
  2. Also, make sure to sign up or follow updates with the SBA or US Chamber of Commerce to get information about potential help during these difficult times.
  3. Also, try to consider obtaining “interruption insurance” because that may be an option for you in case of significant business losses.  Ask your insurance broker.
  4. Re-evaluate your financial situation;
    1. Decrease your unnecessary costs
    2. Create a new financial plan
    3. Start saving if at all possible
    4. Search for small business loans, disaster assistance loans, forbearance payments, hold or freeze your credit card payments.

This is the time to be proactive and search for help, but also try to minimize all your costs, plan for the future, and more importantly prepare for the worst.

Faviola ‘the CEO Hustler’ Valencia, helping you Boss Up and Rise during and after Covid19

In late 2019 many were speculating about a possible economic crisis unbeknownst to many – this coronavirus outbreak would be the cause of a huge global financial crisis and possible recession.

In December I started to see a lot more articles, and was hearing more entrepreneurs talking about a “potential crisis”.  However, many were speculating that it could be due to ongoing changes with the new AB5 Calfornia Law, as well as other things.

Now, if you went through the last “economic crash” then you know that this type of information is NOT taken lightly.

You know you will start to prepare just in case there’s a potential impact and a possible scenario.

So in December of 2019, I started to share insight information “411” with many of you online to help you prepare – because that’s what I do…I help others!

However, many of you said that I was: “taking this out of proportion, fear-mongering, and saying it was a Hoax”…

Unfortunately, here we are in 2020 on “locked down, stock market down, a possible recession, people sick, dying, etc”.

Therefore I always say “It’s better to prepare for the worst and pray for the best”, Faviola the CEO Hustler

I hope that now you realize that this was not a LIE!

So it’s NEVER too late to prepare!

I want to make sure that moving forward you’re prepared and properly positioned for any impact this virus might have on yourself and your business.

This includes taking care of you, your family, your business, and prepare for impacts to your business.

Here’s a copy of my CORONAVIRUS- BE PREPARED ROADMAP to help you prepare with some essential tips for you, your family and business.

It’s time to “Hunker Down” and be vigilant, prepared, and stay healthy and safe!

Sharing 5 major and essential TIPS to HELP the spread of the VIRUS

  1. Wash your hands ALL THE TIME
  2. Don’t sneeze or spread your germs!
  3. Hunker down, don’t leave your house unless IT’S VERY NECESSARY
  4. Clean frequently; disinfect
  5. Avoid touching eyes, face and keep your distance

As an Entrepreneur, we know this is NOT ONLY going to impact us, our family, friends, but also the globe!

Yes, this is a global epidemic and we must take it very seriously if we ever want to get back to our normal life!

This is a good time to spend doing some of these 5 TIPS…

  1. Self-training
    1. Watch FREE training entrepreneur videos
    2. Listen to a FREE entrepreneur training podcast
    3. Read blogs and get trained
  2. Self-evaluate your skills and see if you can put them to work
    1. Example: I’m bilingual and I’ve been using my language skills to provide onsite interpreting, document translations, and over the phone interpretations.
    2. I’m also a bilingual skilled entrepreneur providing bilingual virtual administrative online services
  3. Time to work on those OVERDUE projects
    1. YouTube channel
    2. Podcast
    3. Blog
    4. Website
    5. Planning and Development, etc
  4. I also DON’T RECOMMEND that you do ANY SPENDING at this time unless it’s absolutely necessary.
  5. Furthermore, STAY POSITIVE, MOTIVATED AND DON’T LOSE HOPE – we will get through this together

Lastly, I want to remind EVERYONE to PLEASE do your due diligence and don’t let yourself get “sucked in” by all the online social media posts.

Get informed by going to each government agency’s website:  If you live in the County or City please check their websites and get informed.

Also, if your State has a text message system sign up so you can get the latest alerts on changes within your State.

I welcome all comments and additional information that will help our viewers.

Let’s review your year and let me help you strategize and start earning your worth in 2020!

Starting and Growing a business requires planning and strategically setting things in motion.

It’s also important to prepare for the business growth you desire.

Here are some simple basic steps to help you close 2019 on the right track.

These steps will also help you start and prepare for 2020:

  1. Review and Analyze your year; what you did, accomplished and your profit
  2. What would you like to see different for 2020; expand your business, hire staff, contract VA’s, promote more services or products
  3. Prepare for taxes/year-end; make sure all your financials A/P & A/R, reconciliation, ledgers are in place
  4. File all your old important files; contracts, agreements, invoices, etc
  5. Create your New Year plan; what will you do vs what you did, what will you add vs what you didn’t have.  What new products or services will you add or remove.  Where are your profit margins in accordance with last year’s plans & goals…
  6. Make sure you have a mailing (email) list and contact them whether it’s with a: Happy Holidays, New Terms & Conditions changes or Pricing updates, so they know your still there to help them out.
  7. Create your Social Media posts in advance; post a minimum of 3/times per week, if possible more, but 3 should suffice.
  8. Network; online or offline it’s going to be very important especially now with all this online marketing you have to be competitive.
  9. Delegate your work, but before you do that you MUST HAVE a plan on who, what and how you will do that and your expectations of them.
  10. “Work Hard to Play Hard” is my “Motto”. It’s important that you understand that you have to enjoy life because life is too short and spending your days in the office is NOT the way to go, nor is it the life of a Real Entrepreneur! (at least not for me)

You still got time to plan ahead and make sure that you’re starting your business on the right track!

In order to make the above items work, it’s important to consider your HEALTH & make sure that you’re on the right track when it comes to SelfCare!

Here are some tips to help you out…

  1. Wake up early and always prepare 1 day ahead for the next day.  Use those 15-30 mins to help you with your self-care such as meditation, tea time, reading, exercising and help you prepare for the day; mindset!
  2. During the day make sure to Break in between (especially those of us who work from home it’s so easy to just dive into working and not taking a minute for ourselves).  So use those 15-30 mins a day and go for a walk, jump rope, stretching, or maybe a moment to do some “box breathing” exercised to help stimulate the mind and help you relax.
  3. Create a plan for both your personal life and business (TRUST ME IT WORKS!)…

As a mother with 4 kids keeping up with sports, activities, events, work, training, etc it can be overwhelming and stressful.

It can be even more overwhelming trying to remember EVERYTHING, so have a calendar and have your kids (if old enough to write – make them responsible for their tasks).

Write down their events, so that you can properly plan your business around your family vs. your family around your business…

Your Family is ALWAYS FIRST!

How to Create Your Business Plan 101

The "Hustler Business Plan" 101

Create a successful business plan for your Business (DIY)

Boss Up and Rise

By FAVIOLA VALENCIA "THE CEO HUSTLER"

Why is a Business Plan important?

Imagine starting your business with “high-profit margins, low overhead, and no physical products, a business you could run from the comfort of your own home or from wherever” all while bringing in six figures, with a platform you probably already use – wouldn’t that be great?!

Well, before you can do that you need to create a business plan just as with any other business, you need to have a plan in place for your business, regardless of the type of business.

So, before you even begin to think about making any type of income from your services, or products, you need to start treating your “business” as a business.

Yes, many “businesses” start a business, but they don’t treat it like a business…In other words, they are just providing the service, collecting the money “commingling funds and their business”, which is a NO!, NO!

Little Story: I started my business in 2000 but unlike many businesses I had business experience both Small and Corporate experience and therefore I knew early on what I needed to have in place and what I needed for my business in order to protect it and protect myself.

However NOTHING is “BULLETPROOF” and even with all these measures things still happen, but if you prepare yourself you are able to handle things a lot better than NOT being prepared, right?!

“A business without a plan is doomed to fail, According to U.S. Small Business Administration, a business plan precisely defines your business, identifies your goals and serves as your firm’s resume.”

The biggest mistake that I’ve come across when it comes to business is that many exist without a business plan.

But, unfortunately, many fail or put their business at RISK because they don’t have what they need for their business.

A companies business plan is the foundation of a business, without it, a company is inevitably “doomed to fail – bottom line your putting your business at RISK!”

Example: When you have a plan you actually start thinking about your earnings,  but also the best way on how to allocate your resources—time and plan more importantly plan on your business growth and where you want to be or go.

Unfortunately, not every savvy entrepreneur creates a plan before they launch a new venture…All entrepreneurs, freelancers, solopreneurs, start-ups, etc should (must) create a business plan.

Regardless of how long you’ve been in business (even if you are a newbie), walk with me through the following steps and let’s create a strategy (we’ll call it our “Hustler business plan”) and fast track your path to profitability.

If you are struggling with your business, I invite you to Join Me on 12/26/2019 at 6:00 p.m (pst) this is my yearly workshop where we dive in on; year-end review, new year planning, planning and development and so much more.  Spaces are limited so don’t delay and sign up now…

A business plan doesn’t have to be complex or 20+pages long especially if you are just starting out, it can be a Basic plan with basic components;  balance sheet, an income statement, and a cash flow analysis.

It will help you allocate resources properly, handle unforeseen complications, and make the right decisions for you and your business.

This information is crucial for your business because it provides specific and organized information about your company and how you will repay any borrowed money.  And more importantly, having a good business plan will help your overall success for you and your business.

A business plan will also help you if you are thinking of adding on a sales team, VA’s, vendors, suppliers, or operations team, but it will help you define and focus on your goals.

Remember your business is your “Baby” and having a plan on how to care for your “Baby” is going to be so important and crucial for the overall growth of your “Baby”, right?  You have to teach your baby how to “Crawl before they Walk, and before they Run”…

So, now that we got the “411” out of the way, let me tell you that everything that I share with you is based on “Real Life” experiences, knowledge, trial/error, research and development and I share with you ONLY things that I’ve invested in and proven methods.

Having said that, you can choose to spend the Time & Money in doing your research, or contracting another “Coach” to create the plan for your business, or you can invest in my DIY that includes a Step-by-Step process and plan that I’ve used for my business.

I spent over $5k on this plan, but I share it with you because I know how expensive starting and growing a business can be and I wish I had this same benefit back when I started my business, but I didn’t!

Did you know that A business plan varies quite a bit and Consultants can charge around $3,000 to $15,000 for a complete business plan? For larger corporate projects, expect to see costs ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 – YES!!!

And these plans usually don’t include your Sales & Marketing, Strategic Planning, HR, Operations, etc…these are all sold separately but are so IMPORTANT if you want to run a successful business!

Let me tell you that I spent over $30k just on plans, handbooks, manuals, etc but they played a key role in my growth and success with my business, more importantly, they helped me get the 6-figure contracts and expansion.
